Flawed thoughts

Lately my mind has been brimming over with ideas, but just as this anxiety has taken over my life, it has taken over my creativity too. I've always had a difficult time opening up and talking about/expressing myself. (I think of myself as a rather boring individual) So maybe I need to start using these feelings to my advantage and start creating again?

We'll see.

Something to be blue about

Saturday... today.

René wanted to go for a nice long walk downtown this afternoon. I don't blame him, we haven't been able to go for much walks this week due to my ability to procrastinate on homework like none other. :P So we go out to lunch and head downtown. Begin.

Parking garage, level 4- 1 pm

I noticed a sketchy looking fellow standing in the corner of the garage. but didn't think too much of it. I mean, it was broad daylight! Anyway, we cracked the car windows just a tad to keep it from becoming too much of a sauna and I pop my ipod nano in the glovebox. Off to walk we go!

We're out walking, enjoying the slightly cooler temperature for once. Yay! (come on fall!) I still managed to get a sunburn, but I'm pasty and I'm used to it. haha Either way it was all good. :)

4 pm

Walking in the parking garage, "La la la, can't wait to sit down and get home!" *smile smile* As we approach our car I notice the passenger side window looks odd. I walk closer and holy hell! It's shattered all over the place! What!?

Nothing was stolen and surprisingly my ipod was still in there. (the only thing of value) But besides the shock, it's okay. It took us a good while to clean out all the glass though. Dang! It was flung into the backseat, front seat, dashboard, floorboards etc.

Thankfully the insurance will cover the cost of the window. René's parents are keeping it in their garage until the repair guys come to fix it on Tuesday and in the meantime we get to borrow his mom's car. hehe

Besides that, we had a pretty good day. Got our usual yummy at the farmer's market, The Bavarian Pretzel Factory for lunch (again haha), bubble tea, and a nice dinner with René's parents. :)

Pepper poppers!

Chili heads

I cooked some jalapeno, habanero and a couple other peppers I can't remember the name of, poppers tonight. Delicious.

Here's the recipe that we followed:
Baked Jalapeno Poppers

Other than using the various peppers (we like to experiment since there's an awesome vendor at the farmer's market who has a *huge* selection of peppers) we opted to use a habanero cheddar cheese blend instead of the chipotle. And decided to try for panko instead of the regular bread crumbs. I'd say I could probably skip on the egg part since it wasn't sticking too well to the skins of the peppers, but it stuck decently to the cheese mix on it's own.

Now René and I both agree that the next time would probably be better with just the jalapenos. As much as we love to kick our faces and bodies in with tremendous heat, we also want to be able to enjoy our food. Now that my mouth is cooled off though, I'm craving even more! Which is funny because I was unable to finish my plate because I had met my match with the Caribbean habanero. (I struggled with while seeding it i.e. coughing and sneezing up a storm) Mmm delicious pain.

Linky's day

I found it amusing that he preferred his squeaky loofa dog toy over his pig ear. He used to at least love the dang things (pig ear) and drove me mad with them. Ugh, he has a terrible habit of swallowing the last bit of it whole and then barfing it up.. only to eat it again. Sick. Ugh. He does seem to be a bit exhausted from all the trauma though, so that may be why. :P

I've fallen in love

I don't remember being so much in love with Fall/Autumn. Perhaps it's because Wyoming was so boring and plain during this time of the year? Heck I can't even begin to count how many Halloweens were spent in heavy coats and trudging through snow! *laughs*

I just keep spotting beautiful trees seemingly lit up with yellows, oranges, and reds. Watching leaves shower their way down around my head and stomping on the withered dried up leaves on the ground. Oh what a wonderful crunching noise! If only it stayed like this year round. How I love you Autumn, please be my friend.

Yeto the Yaris

I do have to say it was weird coming straight home and not having to wait around for René. Heck it's so weird that I can't even believe it's mine! I mean sure I'm driving it and all, but it just feels like I'm borrowing it. :P But then again I've only had it for a day. haha

Also, people say the "new car" smell is the best, but to me, it's ugh! It's giving me headaches! Once the detail guys finish with it tomorrow, I'm popping in my air freshener. :P (and domo dice)

And Yeto is the name of the cool yeti in Twilight Princess, René and I felt it fit. :)

Happy Birthday Linky

Too warm

It's totally strange to think he's been in my life for that long already. It's also weird to think back to when he was small enough to fit in my hand. But look at him now, a 9 pound fur ball that loves naps and being lazy, just like me. haha

(one of these days I'll get more recent photos of him, but for now, just imagine him with like 2-3 inches of hair)
